The world's first vegan suite is open

There’s a new kid on the block, and it’s dedicated to an animal-free, cruelty-free lifestyle. The world’s first vegan suite - laden with solid stone-grey flooring made from 100% renewable and sustainable Moso Bamboo and sharing offerings from the treasure chest of Deliciously Ella protein balls – is where the X lies on the map of the eco-conscious traveller. The vegan lifestyle is woven into every part of the experience, beginning with the check in of course. Key cards and seating made from Piñatex – a vegan-friendly leather made from a pineapple’s cellulose fibres – under the shadow of botanical artwork in this specially designed area. 

With all sustainable boxes ticked so far, the suite itself is the star of the show. No smells of potent products greet you as you turn the door handle, with Method’s range of non-toxic, non-animal-tested cleaning products now the main resident on the hotel’s housekeeping trolleys. All linen is also washed with environmentally friendly detergent, infusing your suite with natural products from the start. Sink your feet into a responsibly-sourced eco-cotton carpet, and perch on desk chair and poufs that have been stylishly created using Piñatex leather, with scattered cushions of the same organic material complementing the chic design. 

The most important part you may ask? Of course, it's kicking back after a long day working or sightseeing in the comfort and luxury surrounding you, while maintaining a vegan twist. The suite features a Piñatex ‘fake leather’ headboard, hand-embroidered by local embroidery artist Emily Potter, and pillow options include anti-bacterial, non-allergenic and environmentally sourced material to replace feather down. Indulging in some me-time is still a priority here, with the suite providing PRIJA ginseng, earthly hotel toiletries such as shampoo and conditioner and essentials such as a shower cap, vanity and nail kit, all made with recycled packaging. And if working is unfortunately still on the to-do list, the vegan-friendly notepads, pens and pencils are all free of animal traces in both the paper and the ink. 
 

The true genius of this suite, however, is how the stylish aesthetics and contemporary design are not compromised. You can almost hear the water dripping off the damp leaves above as you pull the forest-green curtain shut on the twinkling London lights, and enjoy the earthy palette and minimalist interiors, that genuinely include real plants! Created in partnership with multi-sensory design experts Bompas & Parr, it’s no wonder that innovative thinking is at the core of this suite, which has also been given the approval of The Vegan Society. 

Vegan culture is of course centred around food and this hotel stay is no different. The culinary team has completely redesigned the in-room menu with breakfast options such as grilled Portobello mushroom, avocado, scrambled Quorn and quinoa while lunch and dinner options include cauliflower steak and five-bean dhal. The minibar hasn’t been left out either, with guests treated to an array of locally-sourced vegan nibbles, including Graze protein powder, Naked fruit and nut snacks.
