Are you a sun-seeker looking for a secluded Bali hotel with private pool? Good news: Five-star luxury and privacy come hand in hand at Bali’s top-tier resorts…

These hotels aren’t like your usual summer holiday places to stay, often overcrowded and dampened by the feeling you’re on top of other guests around the pool or table-to-table at dinner.

Instead, Bali’s premium accommodation boasts crowdless peace and quiet and plenty of private villas seemingly away from everyone else in the world.

Everything you need will be right at your fingertips. Bali may now be a major holiday destination for travellers from all around the world, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find tranquillity. You just have to look in the right places.

To help you find the perfect match, we’ve got a list of the most luxurious private hotels Bali has to offer. The hardest part is choosing which to visit first...

Jumana Bali Ungasan Resort

First on our list of the most private hotels in Bali is Jumana Bali Ungasan Resort. Finding serenity is a way of life here. As soon as you arrive, you’ll be hit with a sense of calmness that’ll hopefully stay with you even once you’ve touched down back at home.

Your journey of serenity all starts when you check into your private villa, the best of which is the collection of 3,391ft2 Sanctuary Sea-View Villas.

You have your own private infinity pool overlooking the Indian Ocean and two spacious bedrooms all complete with chic Balinese décor. A stay in one of these is like having your cosy haven for a week or two.

But no matter what villa you stay in, just make sure you indulge in a treatment or two at the spa. No TLC holiday is complete without a heavenly massage – which you can alternatively enjoy in the privacy of your villa if you’d prefer. This place is all about putting your happiness first.

The Legian Bali

Although it’s situated on the highly popular Seminyak Beach, The Legian Bali is a sanctuary away from the busy shores – making it one of the best private hotels in Bali when you want the option to be amongst the hustle and bustle if you fancy livelier night-time vibes after peaceful afternoons.

For the ultimate sense of privacy, we recommend booking a stay in The Beach House, an 8.611ft2 residence overlooking a quiet stretch of Seminyak Beach and boasting exclusive VIP treatment, such as your own private infinity pool and 24/7 butler service.

You can then continue living the lavish lifestyle outside the villa too, particularly at The Ocean Champagne Bar stocked with all the finest bottles of bubbly, best enjoyed at your own private candle-lit table as the sun sets over the ocean horizon.

COMO Shambhala Estate

Ah, COMO Shambhala Estate – a place that hones in on your personal health and well-being. No doubt you’ll leave feeling rejuvenated from the inside out.

To find your zen, you’ll have the opportunity to tick off all sorts of R&R activities, ranging from a relaxing holistic body wrap at the spa to a heavy workout session in the state-of-the-art fitness centre.

You’re also encouraged to head out of the resort too, whether it’s on a cycling tour up the rolling hills of Mt. Abang or white water rafting down the sacred waters of Ayung River.

But despite the resort’s renowned programme of wellness-focused activities, you can also be left to your own devices if you need a little breather and some ‘me’ time.

A quiet evening enjoying your own company in your private suite may be exactly what you need to destress – especially if it’s one of the Terrace Suites which come with their own private terrace overlooking the surrounding jungle. The sounds of the rainforest are just what you need to help you gently drift off the sleep.

Bvlgari Resort Bali

Looking for the ultimate Bali hotel with a private pool? Look no further than Bvlgari Resort Bali. This place is home to a variety of spectacular villas – all of which come with their own plunge pool, and some even big and impressive enough to call a mansion. Sounds like your cup of tea? Okay, listen up.

The largest and grandest villa here is the five-bedroom mansion, set across a staggering 38.642ft2 of space and boasting a huge variety of amenities and spaces to keep you entertained – including a two-tier swimming pool, private butler service, and a fully-stocked mini-bar when you fancy a night-cap staring up at Bali’s star-lit sky.

And if five bedrooms is too much space, the mansions also come in two, three, and four-bedroom varieties – so take your pick. Considering they’re all titled as ‘mansions’, you can definitely come here expecting good things – the bigger the better we say.

Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve

Last on our list of the most private hotels in Bali is Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, an idyllic retreat perfect for nature-lovers who want to feel totally immersed in the surrounding jungle.

Think: relaxing afternoons in your private rainforest garden with your head in a good book or tweeting birds acting as your AM alarm call before strolling out to your balcony to watch the sunrise over the Ayung River.

The dining options are stellar here too. For an al fresco breakfast, head to the Sawah Terrace, best enjoyed on quiet and peaceful mornings before the rest of the resort awakes from their slumbers.

An absolute must for dinner is Kubu, the resort’s signature fine dining restaurant. Just make sure you request one of the nine private cocoon booths, especially if you’re looking for an intimate date night with a special someone.

The most private hotels in Bali FAQs

What is the quietest area of Bali?

Although Bali tends to get pretty crowded during the peak holiday season, it’s worth remembering that the crowds do thin out when you venture off the beaten track away from main tourist hubs like Kuta, Legian, Seminyak and other resorts along the Southern coast.

Instead, try visiting Bali’s quietest spots like the serene beaches of the remote coastal town Amed, the traditional mountain village of Penglipuran, the majestic water palaces of the Karangasem, or the island of Nusa Lembongan where you can enjoy all sorts of beach water sports without hundreds of fellow tourists getting in line before you.

How do you avoid crowds in Bali?

If privacy is a top priority for you, here are a few tips and tricks you can use to avoid the hustle and bustle of Bali’s larger tourist crowds:

  • Head to the Northern parts of the island where things generally seem to be quieter all year round. Exploring West Bali National Park is a must!
  • Catch the beautiful morning sunrise when hungover party-revellers are still in bed.
  • Don’t be afraid to venture off course and find hidden beaches away from the usual spots you’re regularly told about.
  • Opt for private transport instead of jam-packed buses and coaches. Renting your own scooter might seem daunting at first, but it’s one of the best ways to get around on your own schedule.

If there’s somewhere particular that you’ve taken a liking to on our list of private Bali hotels, make sure you reach out. One of our friendly and knowledgeable travel managers will discuss your options and see whether it’s the perfect match based on your biggest needs and desires.

Once we’ve found you something you love, we’ll get the ball rolling by booking your luxury holiday to Bali. The ultimate trip to paradise is just a few steps away.
