Bob Bob Ricard, Soho 

One of the most iconic restaurants in London, Bob Bob Ricard serves classic French and British cuisine in a glitzy booth-only setting.

Its legendary ‘PRESS FOR CHAMPAGNE’ button is located at every table and was famously capped at £50 many years ago – whatever your champagne of choice – the price remains the same to this day and the restaurant is known for pouring more bubbly than any other establishment in Britain. 

Its ultra-elegant private dining room is inspired by the royal carriage of the Orient Express and the Golden Age of Travel with deep brown wood-panelled walls, mosaic floors, sumptuous gold accents and blue velvet tasselled blinds.

Seating between nine and 16 guests, this enticing room offers a full à la carte menu and a minimum spend of £1,500 for dinner (plus service). 

The Ned, The City 

A former Midlands Bank in the 1920s and restored to its Art Deco glory a decade ago, The Ned is now one of the most fashionable five-star hotels and culinary destinations in London.

A favourite celebrity haunt, The Ned boasts eight restaurants as well as several exclusive rooms for private events and dining.

Six Grade I-listed meeting rooms and two outdoor terraces are located on its historical and refurbished sixth floor, including the bank’s former chairman Reginald McKenna’s private luncheon room, RWB, which can seat up to 60 guests in its movie-boardroom-style backdrop. 

Not only this but Ned’s Club Members and Friends have exclusive and private access to a range of incredible dining and drinking venues within the hotel, including our personal favourite, the superb Ned’s Club Upstairs, a rooftop terrace with heated pool, restaurant, two converted domes and fantastic views over St Paul’s Cathedral and out across the city. 

Café Football, Old Trafford 

It doesn’t have to be all five-star luxury and opulent settings. Take Café Football, the brainchild of former Manchester United icons: Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes, and Philip and Gary Neville, which forms part of the group’s award-winning Hotel Football Old Trafford.

Inspired by the beautiful game, the hotel is designed to offer excellent food, service, accommodation, event space and even has a rooftop football pitch aptly named ‘Heaven’.

Café Football provides welcoming, locally sourced staples and a football-inspired menu including burgers and chips, handmade pizzas, and crisp salads, as well as bespoke beers and live sport on the TV.

THE PIG-at Harlyn Bay, Padstow 

THE PIG hotels are pretty special. Self-styled as ‘restaurants with rooms’, THE PIG ethos centres around their essential Kitchen Gardens that are at the heart of everything they stand for, notably in their commitment to producing home-grown ingredients and using the freshest local produce.

What cannot be grown in-house is sourced from no further than 25 miles away. 

at Harlyn Bay’s offering is a PIG that features a few unique private dining options such as The Smokery for smallish groups of up to eight people. Its intimate, farmhouse-style atmosphere is perfect for cosy dinners with friends.

Prices start from £3,000 in Autumn/Winter and £5,000 in Spring/Summer for a gorgeous set menu – think freshly caught seafood and succulent locally-sourced meat – and all drinks included!
