We’re big believers that the Côte d’Azur (or the French Riviera) should take a top spot on everyone’s travel bucket list. It’s France’s very own Mediterranean playground for the wealthy, with miles and miles of sunny beaches, row after row of high-end designer boutiques, and charming harbours full of deluxe million-pound yachts.
You’ll also find a wonderful selection of five-star hotels spread across the glitzy towns and cities. In fact, Côte d'Azur is widely celebrated for its high-end resorts that welcome thousands of holiday-goers each year, all in search of one thing: the best premium hotel suites in the whole of Côte d'Azur.
Luckily It doesn’t take long to find some, and we think these are the crème de la crème of luxury hotel rooms in Côte d'Azur, from Nice to Saint-Tropez to Cannes.
Take a closer look and find the one that best suits your ultimate luxury France holiday.
Five Seas Hotel Cannes is situated just a 10-minute drive from the Promenade de la Croissette – the bright and bustling heart of Cannes where the city truly comes to life. With its lavish interiors and a multitude of on-site R&R options, this is a hotel that wows all types of holiday-goers – couples, families, and corporate travellers.
For the best room in the house, we recommend staying in the 2,314ft2 Presidential Suite. It’s not hard to see why it’s one of the most luxurious hotel rooms in Côte d'Azur, as it boasts a spacious open-plan layout and magnificent art-deco stylings, along with views of the Notre-Dame de Bon Voyage just outside your window. You’ll wake up every morning, look outside, and feel like you’re in a vintage Hollywood movie.
The space includes three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and two lounges, meaning there’s plenty of room for families or larger groups staying here to celebrate special occasions.

Spread across a whopping 300 acres of pure luxury, there’s no doubt you’ll have a grand old time at Terre Blanche. With two on-site golf courses, a premium spa, and an infinity pool seemingly stretching out into Cannes’ countryside, rest assured you’ll also have plenty to keep you entertained – but that’s just the resort facilities. Your private suite is where the real fun lies.
With marble everywhere you look and 3,229ft2 of space to play with, the resort’s Prestige Villa is one of the most luxurious and generously-sized hotel suites Côte d'Azur plays host to. Yet despite its size and opulence, this villa still feels homely. You can spend your days relaxing in the lounge reading a book or cooking up dinner for the family in your fully-equipped kitchen.
Oh, did we also mention you get your own private swimming pool? Take a refreshing dip in the morning’s first light and then wrap yourself up in an ultra-soft complimentary bathrobe watching the sunrise. It's well-equipped for incentive travellers on a corporate retreat too.

We couldn’t list the best hotel suites in Côte d'Azur without mentioning The Presidential Suite “Dolce Vita” at Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez. This is a resort that oozes expensive grandeur, from the chic rooftop restaurant of Les Toits Loune to the state-of-the-art fitness centre where a resident fitness coach is always on hand with tips and advice.
The biggest draw here though is the Presidential Suite “Dolce Vita". You’ll be dazzled by its glamorous furnishings and luxe amenities, including two private terraces, a Jacuzzi tub, 24-hour security, and even your own wine cellar. No doubt you’ll find the perfect bottle to pop open while admiring the panoramic views of Saint-Tropez’s picturesque coastline.

Next on our list of the best hotel suites in Côte d'Azur is The Bedroom Suite Sea & Garden View at Royal-Riviera Hotel. With the hotel nestled nicely on a prime beachfront spot of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, this is a resort that makes the most of its breath-taking ocean backdrop, especially at the Jasmin Grill & Lounge where you can sip rosé and tuck into truffle pasta overlooking the famous Baie des Fourmis beach.
The wonderful views continue in your suite too, with a large terrace looking out at both the sea and the resort’s pristinely kept gardens. All of the rooms at Le Grand Hotel Cannes are spectacular, but it’s The Panoramic Jacuzzi Room that stands out as one of the most luxurious hotel rooms in Côte d'Azur. As a hotel that perfectly combines old-school glamour with ultra-modern amenities, this suite ticks all the boxes for a glitzy stay in Cannes.
The interior design takes you back in time to the fabulousness of the 1960s, with modern space-age furniture, rich colours, and geometric patterns all bringing that sense of nostalgia. Amongst the charm and style, you’ll also feel like a VIP with the suite’s spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea best enjoyed sipping on champagne in the bubbling Jacuzzi bath. How fancy, right?

Last on our list of the best Côte d'Azur hotel suites is the Princely Diamond Suite at Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo. This is a hotel room that has that extra-special je ne sais quoi.
After picking up the keys in the hotel’s bright and elegant lobby, you’ll then be escorted upstairs by your personal butler to the expansive suite made up of three bedrooms, living space, private dressing rooms, and a beautiful loggias. The whole place is so delightful you’ll never want to leave.
But make sure you do, because the suite also comes with a free limousine service for getting around Monte-Carlo and its most popular landmarks and attractions

When is the best time to visit the Côte d'Azur?
There’s never a particularly bad time to visit Côte d’Azur, but if it’s plenty of sunshine you’re after, we recommend planning your trip sometime between May and September.
However, if sunshine isn't a priority, try going in the off-season months (October to May) when it’s much quieter and free from the summer crowds of local festivals.
What’s the best way to get around the Côte d'Azur?
Hopping on board a train is the fastest and most convenient way to get around the South of France, especially if you’re travelling longer distances unreachable by car or taxi. The TGV runs between many of the major towns and cities in the Côte d'Azur region, including Nice, Cannes, and St Tropez. It’s also one of the world’s fastest trains.
For shorter journeys around town, you can also jump on a shared city bike and take the many easy-to-follow cycle routes. France is a super cycle-friendly country, so don’t worry – even the most novice cyclists will feel safe and at ease.
We hope at least one of these five-star hotel suites gets you excited. To get the ball rolling on your trip, rely on us to book luxury hotels in France – we’ve got the expertise in finding you just the right accommodation for your needs and desires.
