- Although not known first and foremost for its foodie scene, Colorado has an ever-increasing culinary reputation which is packed with surprises that will woo even the most hardened gourmet critic.
- Considered to be one of the state’s signature dishes, you have to try the rather unique delicacy of Rocky Mountain Oysters during your stay. Not all they seem on the packet, the savoury dish is said to taste a lot like chicken and is often served breaded and fried with a side of fries and a spicy sauce to top it all.
- A favourite of Colorado Springs, the Penrose Room restaurant is one of the top fine-dining venues in the Rocky Mountains and is both a five-star and five-diamond eatery. Best of all, it sits in the top floor of the Broadmoor South building, meaning that it offers incredible views of Cheyenne Mountain alongside excellent cuisine. Talk about mouth-watering!
- Of course, Denver couldn’t be left off any comprehensive list of Colorado’s best eats with some of the state’s greatest restaurants within its borders. A particular favourite of locals and visitors, the Guard & Grace is a chophouse you simply have to visit. More than your average American grill venue, the extravagantly spacious eatery offers a floor-to-ceiling cellar of delicious wines as well as an outdoor patio and indoor seating area. The menu is the real highlight here though and King of it all is the signature G&G steaks which range from four to 22 ounces.
