At Arctic Bath you can stay in a five-person cabin on the land, a suite of the same size for two, or a smaller cabin floating on the river. All are reminiscent of the region, crafted from natural, sustainable materials which have been used for centuries. A retreat spent in any one of them includes spa access and all are equipped with air conditioning, underfloor heating, and a stove.
The water cabins are the smallest but offer the most unique experience. With a private deck and a ladder leading straight into the river Lule for cold swims under the midnight sun in summer, these free-floating double rooms are connected to land by just a small walkway. A double bed to sleep in at night, deckchairs to stretch out on in the day, and a large stylish ensuite with a walk-in shower are all just at your fingertips.
Ideal for families with three children, or who would just rather have their feet on solid ground, the five-bed land cabins situated amongst the trees offer just as peaceful a stay. Elegantly designed, a spiral staircase leads from the main room with the king size bed to the loft area with three singles. Daytime light pours gently through its glass front, and at night, the soft lamps and crackling fire set a cosy scene. Also featuring a private deck and bathtub, it oozes calm.
The same size as the five-bed land cabin but just for two, the suites offer an even more luxurious experience. Once again constructed with a wide glass front, you can enjoy the region’s incomparable views curled up in an armchair. A spiral staircase takes you up to a large double bed, and the attached deck offers the perfect place to breathe in the clean morning air.
Worth the journey, Arctic Bath’s remote location boasts of beautiful scenery. The midnight sun and the northern lights overlook the river and vast expanses of woods and snow, a sumptuous smörgåsbord for the eyes in any season. With skiing, kayaking, safari, and foraging all available to engage you in the rich landscape, Swedish Lapland is a place like no other.
