For some culture swing by Harpa Concert Hall which is a just a 10-minute walk away or alternatively head to Hallgrimskirkja cathedral, just 15-minutes away by foot. When you really want to relax, a visit to the Blue Lagoon is a must, just 50-minutes away by car. The hotspring of Geysir is reachable after an hour and 30-minute drive. Oh, and while your chances of seeing the Northern Lights in the city are pretty slim, the best place to potentially spot them is at the Grótta Lighthouse, just 10-minutes by car from Hótel Borg.

Set in the Golden Hall of the hotel, which is known for its unique oval ceiling mural, Jamie’s Italian serves superb meals that everyone is sure to enjoy. Drawing inspiration from the Italian way of life, the British chain created by chef Jamie Oliver offers a variety of antipasti and nibbles, sour dough pizzas, salads and grills as well as mouth-watering desserts. There’s a separate kids’ menu if you’re travelling with little ones and a brunch which includes scrambled eggs, bacon and baked beans with polenta-waffle, fruits and brownie bites.
