Three floors of luxury can be found in the Tower Suite. On the ground floor you have a small entry way with a wardrobe and a writing desk with the first floor boasting a marvellous bedroom and a seating area for guests. The bathroom can be found on the top floor and is ideal for a pamper before seeing the sights, too. There’s a walk-in shower as well as a separate tub and Molton Brown toiletries to take advantage of.
Located in Austurstræti, Reykjavik’s most prestigious shopping, entertainment and cultural district, you have plenty of activities to fill your days. Browse through the boutiques of Laugavegur before heading to the stunning Hallgrimskirkja cathedral just a 15-minute walk away. For a taste of culture make sure to book a show at Harpa Concert Hall, reachable after a 10-minute stroll. Alternatively, there are various museums to swing by such as the National Museum of Iceland which is a 15-minute walk away.
Icelandic and European dishes are sure to make your mouth water at Apotek Kitchen + Bar. Minke whale, beef sandwiches and lamb rump steak are just some of what’s available on the extensive menu, with every taste and craving sure to be satisfied. Open for lunch and dinner, you can also indulge in an afternoon tea which includes a range of sweet and savoury treats such as sea trout on a waffle, blueberry scones and the classic tuna sandwich.
When you want to unwind, the bar at Apotek Hotel should be your go to. Found in the same space as the hotel’s restaurant here you can enjoy a few drinks with loved ones and take in the relaxing ambience of the venue. Staff act as ‘pharmacists’ and you can choose from a menu of drinks split into painkillers, stimulants, tranquillisers and non-alcoholic placebos. Each of the cocktails have inventive names and ingredients such as ‘The Grapest Martini’ and ‘Hendrick’s Demise.’
