The luxurious king-sized bed in the Return from India Room is fit for a maharaja, and the luxurious wooden panelling found throughout give this residence a true feeling of understated regality. Inspired by the style and culture of Anglo-Indian nobility, the bespoke furnishings and rich colour palette of each room will surely leave you feeling totally sophisticated and in touch with your aristocratic side.

Located in the city of Beaune in the very heart of Burgundy, Chez Les Fatien is ideally placed to explore this iconic and vibrant region. Beaune itself is best explored on foot, and the world-famous fifteenth century Hôtel-Dieu and the gorgeous basilica are both reachable within a 10-minute walk. The region surrounding the city is one of the most iconic wine-producing areas in the world, and the centuries-old tradition of growing grapes in ‘climats’ found all over has led to their inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site – they’re the ideal setting for a day of cycling or walking accompanied by a hearty picnic. Further afield, the gorgeous historic sites of Dijon, Autun, Vézelay and Cluny are all reachable within an hour’s drive, and the picturesque Morvan National park is right on your doorstep – perfect for a relaxing day enjoying the gorgeous countryside surrounded by nature.

Chez Les Fatien features a charming courtyard and a cosy salon which simply ooze rustic appeal and are the ideal spot to relax over a large glass of Maison Fatien wine, or a fortifying Cognac. In the salon, a continental breakfast is served daily – it’s the best way to kickstart your morning – and dinner can be prepared by your hosts on request. Local delicacies include Coq au Vin and Boeuf Bourguignon, both of which feature plenty of the locally produced wines that are famous throughout the world.

There's certainly no shortage of things to do in the town of Beaune and the surrounding region, from the historic abbeys and castles to a tranquil journey by riverboat along the many waterways that criss-cross the area.
