Shamwari aims to leave guests with a longing to return to the reserve again and again for their annual holidays and to this end has ensured that all of its accommodations are relaxing, revitalising and refreshing. No wiggling around in sleeping bags and going without showers for you, oh no – at this wildlife park, the old meaning of ‘tent’ is thrown right out of the window. Guests here are only afforded the most luxury of rooms and nowhere is this more concentrated than at the Bayethe Lodge.
Pronounced, ‘by-ye-ti’, the name of this lodge is the Zulu word for a royal greeting, ‘I salute you’. This sentiment has been translated into every nook and cranny of the Bayethe tented lodge which provides visitors with the warmest African welcome. A tented paradise that is considered similar to glamping, this stunning location is surrounded by indigenous flora that provides a breathtaking refuge of seclusion. Each of the ‘tents’ sleeps two adults.
